The ASpire: No Limits barbershop events were designed to mirror the community engagement strategies of the late Shawn White, PhD., whose work, as Director of the University of Pennsylvania – School of Nursing research study, Barbers Building Better Brothers, aimed to provide African-American barbershop owners and patrons with heath & wellness information.
Attendees had the opportunity to paint part of the ASpire: No Limits mural dedicated to Dr. White and his mission. Each event featured visual and performing artist who showcased their work, discussed artistic process, creative careers paths, and life lessons with attendees.
